Photo report from the first dog-friendly film screening in Minsk
On Friday, August 18, the first dog-friendly film screening took place in Minsk, for which they chose a self-explanatory film called “Dog Life” (USA, 2017). We visited there with our photographer, recorded everything and talked with the organizers.
According to Igor Polikarchik, one of the founders of the project, OkiDog is trying to "reach out" to Minsk residents with a message: let's be more cultured and live like in Europe. This means that dog-friendly cafes will appear, indicated by appropriate labels, and events like Friday. This is not so much a film screening as a kind of “party” of dog owners who can sit, drink coffee and watch a wonderful movie.
Our task is to gradually convey to people the idea that in Minsk you can live with a dog differently. We do not believe that everything will change overnight, but we need to start somewhere. We are happy to be pioneers, and perhaps then someone will pick up our initiative.
